Full Curl Habitat specializes in river restoration and stream enhancement. Driven by a fervent passion for improving aquatic ecosystems through a more holistic approach. Our work culminates in a project that looks and functions as nature had built it from the start; essentially reversing the last 150 years of poor management practices and habitat degradation. Our team offers comprehensive fisheries consulting and management; combining expertise in engineering, hydraulics, biology, and aquatic assessments. Whether dealing with freestone streams, spring creeks or tailwaters, Full Curl Habitat has the prowess to achieve outstanding fisheries outcomes when high-quality restoration and enhancement are needed.
Rivers and streams naturally evolve, with erosion in some areas and sediment deposition in others. However, external factors can cause streams to deteriorate. Human activities, such as cattle grazing or farming, can disrupt the balance of river systems. Stream bank damage, caused by trampling and the removal of riparian vegetation, increases sediment levels and reduces water flow by widening the channel. This degradation removes critical habitats for macroinvertebrates and fish, raising water temperatures in shallow, slow-moving areas.
River and stream enhancement are essential for improving fisheries and riparian habitats; supporting the long-term health of aquatic ecosystems. At Full Curl Habitat, we understand that many facets affect the output and ecological balance of each stream. Our assiduous fieldwork enable us to identify the limiting factors and create designs that are biologically, hydraulically, and ecologically sound; tailored to enhance each unique fishery.
The Full Curl Habitat team is committed to maximizing land use while preserving the integrity of the aquatic environment. Every project and management plan is driven by this ethos, ensuring we deliver instrumental results for clients while promoting responsible stewardship.
Full Curl Habitat handles our clients Federal & State permitting fisheries restoration dreams with ease. No need to stress or fear dealing with The Army Corps of Engineers or State Division of Wildlife. Our team has worked with these agencies and built streamlined relationships over the past 20 years!
